We found this Mutual Expectations Parents Charter from the Family Rights Group to be very helpful and wholly encourage its consideration, acceptance and use within the DfE, local authorities and charities/organisations working with our children and families or representing our interests. According to our Connections Survey, which was conducted in August 2018, partnership working is sadly not something that adopters, special guardians and kinship carers can easily achieve when children must re-enter care, when it actually becomes more important than ever to support the child’s relationship with family. Only 2/41 respondents reported being able to achieve ‘good partnership working’ in this difficult scenario. This issue needs consideration and swift remedial action by policy makers and legislators.
